Why We're Doing This
We’re tired of hearing our generation categorized as "apathetic."
We are active, we are informed, and we are ready to bring about significant change this election season. In the way previous generations stepped up to demand civil rights, or protest the Vietnam War, we want to inspire more of our peers to engage in their civic duty and take a more active role in the political processes on a state and national level.
But The Race to 2008 isn’t a rally, this is a conference created for college students by college students (come on, it even starts at 1PM!). Join us, and we are going to provide you with methods and means to harness your passion – whatever you’re excited about or believe should be important to others – and create an energy and awareness about it on your own campus. As young voters, we have the power and the responsibility to participate in the decisions that will affect our futures as Americans. This is a role that extends beyond next November, but we need to start somewhere — why not now?
